Not a complete fail of a week [37/60]
The past few weeks have just been a flurry of activity and a real test to my stamina. I think I'm weathering okay as I'm nearing the end of it all.
A few hours left of my work week, and then I'm on to vacation time.
The 'almost fail' referred to in the title comes from a few details:
So, yeah, not a complete fail... but it's tiring enough that I feel beat up. I'm going to enjoy this week of vacation time I have coming up. Picking up a new tent on the weekend for our camping trip in mid-July... Minocqua will now be a breeze compared to 10 days of continual piping ... so long as it's not blisteringly hot like last year.
A few hours left of my work week, and then I'm on to vacation time.
The 'almost fail' referred to in the title comes from a few details:
- I haven't been biking much this week... with time frames, meetings, and generally my health I've only biked today [friday].
- We officially are going into over time for the CD recording... it's been a gruelling time with that. Not only physically, but for the instruments and the fluctuations it has been emotionally pulling. At the end of yesterday we were 2 tracks short to be completed. So we will use our mixing time to do some more recording. And just now they're even talking about doing some more tracks. /shakeshead
- teeball is over... and despite how little was really 'accomplished' in teaching the kids about playing the game, I think they (and I) really enjoyed the time. it was awesome handing out the medals to the kiddies yesterday.

Like too little butter scraped over too much bread [36/56]
points to the geek who knows where that comes from.
But yeah, this week I've felt exactly like that. With 5 days in the recording studio, busy days at work, and teeball... I've just felt pushed to my extreme.
I could feel a chest congestion that my body was having a difficult time combating, and it was noticeable when we were in the upstairs studio recording. Fisherman's friends to the rescue (and some ColdFX).
Then there was the Canadian Celtic Celebration, which is fun, but being exhausted from the week, and a brewing case of tendinitis...
it was hard to really get in the spirit of it. I felt bad that I missed the message about playing in the finale tonight. Woops.
And my wife has been stellar about it, and thanks to my folks who've watched Dean on short notice.
Once this is over, I need to find a way to make it all up to them.

These here are the long days [34/52]
I could say how insightful I was in choosing that title... as tomorrow is the... equinox... or solstice. I forget which. Essentially the longest day of the year.

Don't know about you, but I had an awesome weekend [33/50]
So I had to drive this morning. Specifically because the check engine light came on the dashboard, and I was bringing it in. As I was doing that the 'ABS' sensor light came on as well.
Why am I not cursing? It sounds like it's going to be a few hundred dollars EASILY.
Well, we had an awesome weekend.
Friday we had a staff get together at the boss'. Dean got enjoy a trampoline:
Saturday, besides being my birthday, means it was time for some Teeball with Dean and the team - where we caught up 2 games we missed and had a great bbq and play time on the equipment. Mandy even made cupcakes!
It also meant some nice dinner with my folks and Dean.
Sunday was Father's Day, and I got a cool card from Dean and an Angry Birds shirt to match his. I got my dad some BluRay movies for his player (he's only ever had Mama Mia!, and I was pretty sure he didn't want to watch that). I got him some nature movie "Life" and Fox & the Hound 1 & 2, so he can watch with Dean. I was going to get him 50/50 or Bucket List, but thought it might be a bit too morbid.
It was a great weekend.
And to top it off I got the HTC One X in!
This is cool, as Friday I got a call from the HTC contact that they had read my blog (this one?) about how antsy I was to get it. So she called to let me know it wasn't coming in that day, but for sure Monday. Talk about good customer service!
Here's to more like that over the summer!
Now, I've dropped below 2/3 of my biking %ge, but I'm sure I can get above that soon as the weather gets better. Will probably have to drive the majority of this week (2 events planned)... ah well.

And we had not only good food and company, but a bonfire!
We can't wait to go camping.
