Picture in your mind James Bond... the 007 with the license to kill.
I bet you that Sean Connery is that mental image. The quintessential Bond in my mind, amongst other great acting as well (who can forget Zardoz). If Sean had not died last year, he would have been 89 today.
There was that time that Bond went to space in Moonraker, but never got to the moon itself.
If he had, maybe he could have looked up to see if the Great Moon Hoax was in fact true...
In 1835 the New York Sun published a story (they said it was from some famous astronomers, it wasn't) about how they looked through a telescoope at the moon and saw creatures with wings and furry...
The Sun never retracted this story.
I like to think it's what inspired that French film "A Trip to the Moon" and then that in turn inspired the Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight video.
Speaking of pumpkins, apparently it'll be pumpkin spice latte season soon (way sooner than normal) and ... ick... one thing you shouldn't put pumpkins in?
