October 1st - new show on CTV - people in cars drinking coffee

A new month... wow this year is zipping by.

It was this day in 1908 that Henry Ford introduced the Model T, and it would have cost you a whopping $825 to own one.

Ushering in a new era of factory assembly line modelling, building something the workers could afford and then transforming urban landscapes for roads etc...

Going to do all that, you'll need some energy and coffee is the most popular drink out there, and today is International Coffee Day!

How do you like your beans?

When it's time to settle down and relax after some driving around, why not watch some TV.  It was today in 1961 that CTV was launched in Canada.

September 29th - Coffee's good for the Heart, right?

Now, this gets awkward.  In Canada we celebrate National Coffee Day today.

Yet, internationally, Coffee Day is Oct 1.  Wonder why there's that difference.

It's also World Heart Day.

What's the linkage there I wonder?

If coffee goes with the heart, you know what goes with coffee?  Biscotti.  Now, I think this may be a US only thing, but it's Biscotti Day

July 28 - Coffee & Chocolate, I'm sure Garfield approves

In the US they celebrate milk chocolate day on July 28th (which I always find a bit harder to find in the states, whereas it's the more popular here in Canada).

And what goes well with chocolate?  Well, coffee of course.

The USA during the war had rationed coffee, and today they ended the coffee rationing.

WHEW.

Coffee and Chocolate... stuff I'm sure Garfield would approve of.

Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield, turns 76.
