September 17th has been designated as the day to recognize that people receiving health services shouldn't be subjected to either abuse or unsafe practices.
One place where patients were often respected was on the TV show MASH, which aired for the first time in 1972.
I forget often how great a show it was, depicting with humour an absolutely terrible environment. It balanced that line quite well.
It's also John Ritter's birthday.
He would have been 73 today. Again another often overlooked actor. As much as you may know him for Jack Tripper on 3's Company - he was on a bunch of shows and movies (my favourite - Sling Blade)
