Canada has sure had a rocky past, something we're kinda all working through, day by day. One of those, that I'm using today to learn more about is Louis Riel, as it's Louis Riel Day.
It was on this day that he was executed for treason. The day is now marked as a moment for the Metis of Canada to celebrate their heritage.
The day is also celebrated by Diana Krall (now 57) and comedian Pete Davidson (28).
